Global Drone Surveys was recently chosen to fly a complex aerial inspection on a large industrial roof complex in Manchester. We were asked to locate potential damage on the roof for subject matter experts to review.
This survey was based on a set budget for roof repairs that our client had and a UAV survey inspection was the natural choice for quick, safe and money saving results over the traditional methods of accessing the complex roof area.
Our pilot had to plan and execute a difficult flight path to ensure the camera operator could pick up on areas of potential damage. This sort of proximity flying and camera work takes real skill and team work from our crews. This is something the Global Drone Surveys excels at. This is whats makes us the go to solution for drone surveys and inspections in the UK
As you can see from some of the 130 raw still, we captured we were able to identify
Standing water on the roof and in the gullies
Damage and missing flashing
Damaged and missing ridge sections as well degradation
We use specialist software to overlay measurements and areas if required . This is predicted from known points or P to P laser measurements.
At the end of the inspection, at the request of the client we remained on site and graded all the images to deliver the finished project to meet our clients deadlines.
All our crews are qualified and have real experience of working in complex challenging industrial environments including :
Working at height
Confined space supervisors
Water safety and swift water rescue
RYA power instructors and Water rescue boat instructors
IOSH qualified
Experience of working on COMAH sites
Self contained breathing apperatus weares
Trauma care
These skills although not not always used alongside UAV tasks show the depth of experience and knowledge we have of staying safe in complex industrial environments.
